Susan first discussed doing a webpage back in December 1998. She was sick, and she was also concerned that her mother had Pheochromocytoma. Susan missed out on much that was happening with the group because she had been in the hospital. She had to have surgery, but even so, her focus was still on getting help for her mother.
Susan was spending much effort in trying to convince her mother's doctors
that they needed to do something about her mother's blood pressure problems.
Sue noted that her mother's blood pressure and other symptoms appeared to
be a classic textbook case of Pheochromocytoma. There were times when the
experience was absolutely horrible and then the next couple of days would
be like a vacation. It is difficult to deal with waiting, and never knowing
what to expect.
During the first week of January 1999, Susan reported that, "The doctors
finally diagnosed Mom as having a Pheochromocytoma last week. FINALLY!!!!!
It only took them 15 years. So in the medical world, not bad for a diagnosis.
It really is incredible!"
A few days later, some other doctor was telling Susan that her mother's illness
could be Conn's Disease. Yet another doctor said Susan's mother had Aldosteroma
Syndrome, instead of Pheochromocytoma. So, Susan has been very busy trying
to get well herself, plus she is seeing to it that her mother gets the medical
care she needs.
Susan, we admire you and your mother and family.
