Hello. My name is Mary, and I'm happy that you're visiting my site. I've been dealing with cancer for many years. I've learned that the best way to live with illness on a day to day basis is to self-educate oneself on the subject matter.

For many years in college, I trained to be a physiologist. I received a great educational background in all of the courses, but after completing them, I discovered that I could not work as a physiologist. I couldn't stand to see people or animals suffering. I was told that I would gradually "toughen up" to the realities.  I didn't succeed in "toughening up" to the situations.

I turned to mathematics and physical sciences, specifically electrical and electronic engineering.

Over the years, I found that doing volunteer cancer support gives me a feeling of belonging and being in touch with the physiology world. And I realize now that I can still help others, and in turn help myself, because I know that I am doing something positive with my life.
